Like you, I find those refraction effects really interesting - sometimes it's a case of trying to work out what you're actually looking at!

Kind RegardsIan Johnstonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14130778756061507141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4597424458147017716.post-49064266450114906082015-12-14T20:31:24.134+00:002015-12-14T20:31:24.134+00:00Hi Duncan - it was a bit of a case of "now or...Hi Duncan - it was a bit of a case of "now or never" as the weather had been relentlessly windy - and it proved a good day's winter paddling :o)

Warm wishes to you bothIan Johnstonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14130778756061507141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4597424458147017716.post-10301696433334774252015-12-14T16:11:11.633+00:002015-12-14T16:11:11.633+00:00You did well getting out at all as the weather has...You did well getting out at all as the weather has been grim. I've noticed that sea distortion effect before with Ailsa Craig from Prestwick Beach on a zoom looking severely undercut and totally out of true shape. I like effects like that though.blueskyscotlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09373718369702364265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4597424458147017716.post-74846265336793891682015-12-13T23:24:27.797+00:002015-12-13T23:24:27.797+00:00Hi Ian, I had noted that you were BETWEEN gales on...Hi Ian, I had noted that you were BETWEEN gales on the Moray Firth while, at the same time, we were in the MIDST of them here on Vancouver Island. It's calmed again, so we hope to get back on the water. The local "architecture" there is hard to improve on. Dramatic. :) Warm wishes.
